K-pop fashion moments that were too iconic to go unnoticed

By Vanshika Datta

K-pop fashion is always on point. Each artist brings something new and exciting to the table. For today’s list, let’s look at some of the iconic outfits worn by K-pop idols.

1. Joy - Sequin bodycon dresses

Back when Red Velvet had a comeback with Peek-A-Boo, Joy had multiple times gone viral for slaying sequin dresses like no others. Of course, this item was worn by many idols after her, but when Joy first had it on at the Inkigayo stage, she looked so hot that even non-fans searched “K-POP girl in the rainbow dress” to find out who she was. Her aura was so strong that right after that stage, everyone on Twitter went wild over the performance by Joy.

With the slim-thick figure, white porcelain complexion, voluminous black hair and mysterious gaze, she hooked everyone effortlessly and just like that, tons of people became ReVeluv after that performance only.

The stylists knew how Joy and sequin dresses were born to be each other’s since not long after Joy went viral, they decided to dress her in the same design with just a little colour change.

2. Irene - Off-shouldered dresses

If sequin dresses were destined to be with Joy then for Irene, no other designs than off-shouldered dresses could better accentuate her shoulders.

With the frequency of Irene wearing this type of clothes, from doing MC for big events to going to the airport, it’s not hard to tell that this is her signature style. And if you notice that though most of the designs were in black and Irene also just went for super simple black hair, she still managed to pull out each outfit a different vibe?

Of course, her visual is surreal and that classy cold aura is there as always but while the first dress made her look like a CEO who was going to give a speech at her own company, in the latter one, Irene looked like she is that rich chaebol’s daughter born with a silver spoon.

3. Jennie - Corsets

Corsets have been among the most favourite stylings of all time.

Still, even though tons of idols have at least tried to bring this trend on the stage once, the title queen of corset probably belongs to Jennie considering how she effortlessly slays all types of the corset, from sporty to girly, from soft material to stiffer and more defined ones.

A corset is one of the items that sometimes comes across as a bit too sensitive to wear which is because it was originally worn as an undergarment, Jennie and her coordinates were wise enough to mix and match it with different items to bring down the extreme sexiness and add into it the badass vibe of BLACKPINK.

4. IU - Princess dresses

Okay so enough of all the sexy and badass things, let’s get a change of air by going for something sweet and girly like how IU and princess dresses were destined to be a perfect duo among thousands of other fashion items.

The combo of IU and princess dresses is obviously among the best things because she always shines like a real royal character when appearing in these designs. From daily moments, her concerts, photo books, to red carpets, doing MC for big events and even performing at music awards, there is not a single context that IU can’t bring her signature gowns to appear in public.

But do you think she has ever once failed to not draw all the attention with those girly designs, especially when everyone is now all into the girl-crush and girl-empowerment trends going on in recent years? Of course, never.

The fact that these idols appear in such signature items over and over again means they know which types of clothes accentuate their visuals best. So, do you think that there should be some other names on the list?
