8 Fasion tips that will change your life

 By Rishika Tayal

When it comes to fashion tips, it sometimes seems that everyone and their mother (literally!) has tried-and-true style advice they absolutely swear by. Some are useful, while others … well, not so much. With that in mind, we’ve culled eight style tips from the best: designers, lifestyle experts and, of course, by me. Trust us: With these gems, you’ll be well on your way to living your most stylish life.

1] Mix completely unexpected pieces

The best bloggers bring innovative style ideas, so it’s time to get creative in your own closet and mix unusual pieces. Try your athleisure wide leg track pant with a high heel. Or layer your lightweight boho dress over your jeans. Fashion is constantly reinventing itself and reminds us it’s always been subjective, so create your own style by constantly rearranging your favorite silhouettes.

2] A suit and a bralette

When in doubt, reach for something that might be considered stuffy and wear it with something sexy. There are multiple ways to wear a bralette, but pairing it with your workwear — like slacks or a full suit — will turn those pieces into off-duty staples.

3] Mix textures.

Pile on a bunch of different fabrics in one look—ribbed knit, snakeskin print, suede, silk, leather, etc.—and it's super chic. You can opt to go bold with your color choices or keep them all in the same shade to make the texture mixing more subtle.

4] Wear a matching set.

This is one of the easiest ways to look chic. Any coordinating two-piece like a pantsuit, skirt suit, knit set, or even sweatsuit looks automatically fashionable. Then all you have to do is pick out your shoes and other accessories to go with it.

5] Layers, layers, and more layers.

The more layers you have, the less likely any one piece is to really make or break your outfit, so go crazy—e.g., wear a coat, over a dress, over a mesh shirt, with tights, like seen here. Basically, think of yourself as a fashionable onion. A bonus: This tip works well in the winter time when you need to bundle up anyway!

6] Play with proportions.

A bra top with an oversized quilted jacket. An bulky top with cut-off shorts. Looking fashionable is all about varying proportion and leaning into contrast. Not just pairing big and small shapes, but also structured and soft textures, tight and loose silhouettes, and thick and light materials.

7]  Don't tuck in your top all the way.

Whether it's a sweater, a tank, or a collared silk shirt, just grab that middle front piece, loosely tuck it down, and watch your style cred increase instantaneously. The less effort you put into the tuck, the better.

8] CONFIDENCE

The final and most important tip of looking like a fashion blogger is straight up confidence. The bottom line is personal style is just that — personal. It should be based on what you like to wear, and what makes you feel the best in your own skin. Now this is not a free pass to only wear sweatpants, because that’s when you’re most comfortable. Step out of your normal look and try new trends, wear bold colors, and walk like you own it. These few tips, and holding your head high, will have you feeling like you are Naomi Campbell.
